Oils, acrylics and pastels
Although interested in art all my life, it is only recently that I have been able to devote more time to my painting. I originally started painting with oils but now find that I enjoy the freedom of acrylics more. When painting animal portraits, my preferred medium is pastels.
I painted murals and animal signs for Farming World in Kent, and really enjoy working on a large scale. I have spent a lot of time in Scotland and have drawn inspiration from the animals around me- my favourite being the Highland "coos" and Red Deer.
In 2010, my husband and I travelled to Botswanna and Nambia on a Safari and I loved spending time studying the wildlife there, and many of my earlier works depict this.
I have exhibited at the South East open studios, North East open studios, East Kent open houses and the Kent County Show.

OPENING HOURS
Come Visit
Open every day by appointment only.
During the Lockdown of 2020, I have spent many hours in my gallery painting commissions with all proceeds going to the NHS Covid-19 appeal. I have been honored to be able to paint several pictures of the Household Cavalry, which has been a challenge.

HOW TO TAKE THE PERFECT PICTURE
Tips:
You need to take a good close up photograph, preferably at 1/3 angle. Go outside with the sun facing your subject, the background doesn't matter. Take a few different angles and do both sides to see which you prefer. Remember, the better the photo, the better the portrait.

FAQ
WHAT PHOTOGRAPH'S DO YOU NEED?
I need a good quality reference photograph, one that you would like a painting of. If you would like more than one animal in the same painting, then I can accept separate photographs and put them into one portrait.. but I do need them to be on the same scale.
WHEN DO YOU NEED PAYMENT?
I only accept payment once you are happy with the painting, I will send you a picture of the image to ensure your satisfaction.
HOW LONG DOES A PAINTING TAKE?
Depending on the subject and the amount of work involved, I will try to complete within a few weeks. I will keep you posted regarding progress. If you have a certain deadline, I will try to adhere to this.
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY PAINTING?
If you are local, you are welcome to visit my studio, or I can deliver. For those, further a field, I will arrange delivery via a courier service.
HOW MUCH DOES A PAINTING COST?
Paintings range from £120 to £1000 depending upon the size and any mounting or framing required. Pastels would need to be framed but acrylics can be hung directly onto your wall as the painting wraps around the canvas. Please do not hesitate to ask.
